Complete the required forms before the first session

  • Complete both forms for each student once per snow season, before their first session.
  • A parent or legal guardian must complete the forms for a minor.
  • Set up the pick-up code through the PRE-SESSION INTAKE FORM once per snow season. The same code can be used throughout that season.

The day before the session

Check your booking details

Confirm the date, start and end times, resort, meeting point, instructor’s contact details and session group chat.

Use the details in your confirmed booking.

Set up the pick-up code

Check that you have set up your child’s pick-up code through the PRE-SESSION INTAKE FORM, and share it with anyone authorized to collect your child.

The person collecting your child must enter the correct code in person. Your child can leave with them only after verification is complete.

Tell us what your child needs

Let the instructor know about any recent injury or discomfort, allergies, medical or other restrictions, communication needs, fears or separation anxiety, and any patterns of behaviour they should understand in advance.

Accurate, complete information helps the instructor make safe decisions.

Arrange lift tickets and rentals

Buy lift tickets, arrange rentals and collect all equipment before the session begins.

Weekends and holidays are particularly busy. Allow plenty of time for traffic, queues and getting ready.

Buying tickets or renting equipment on site? Plan to arrive this early:

Weekdays

03

Getting there & arriving ready

Leave early

Rain or snow, traffic and queues for tickets or rentals can all add time to your journey. Give yourself plenty of extra time.

Be fully ready before you meet

Arrive at the meeting point dressed and equipped, with tickets, rentals and washroom visits already taken care of. Do not leave these preparations until after the session has started.

Be at the meeting point on time

Sessions start and finish at the booked times. Time lost because a student is late, held up in a queue or not fully prepared will not be added to the session or made up later.

Speak with the instructor before leaving

Let the instructor know about any concerns with your child’s health, mood or equipment that day. Confirm the end time and pick-up point. Wait until the instructor has confirmed that your child is in their care before you leave.

04

During the session

Stay reachable

Keep your phone available and be ready to return promptly if the instructor asks.

This is especially important for young children, children whose condition may change during the session, and those who need additional support.

Give your child space to learn

Unless you have agreed otherwise with the instructor, please avoid following the session, repeatedly calling to your child, giving technical instructions from across the slope or frequently interrupting to take photos or videos.

Give your child space to build a comfortable working relationship with their instructor.

Confirm any changes

If the meeting point, end time or person collecting your child needs to change, contact the instructor or TXSNOW promptly and confirm the arrangements.

Return when your child needs care

The Snow Buddies Discovery Program is not a childcare service. Booking a session does not transfer a parent’s responsibility as their child’s guardian.

If your child needs help using the washroom, eating or receiving other care, please return when asked.

05

Picking up your child

A parent enters the pick-up code on a phone at the meeting point while the child waits beside the instructor.

Return

15minutes before the session ends

Be back at the agreed location

A parent or the person authorized to collect the child must return 15 minutes before the session ends.

Complete the pick-up code check

The parent or authorized person must enter the correct pick-up code in person. Your child can leave with them once verification is complete.

Check your child’s belongings

Check for the lift ticket, gloves or mittens, goggles, water bottle, clothing and equipment. If anything is missing, contact the resort’s lost and found as soon as possible.
